‘Learning from Las Vegas’ was one of my favourite books in Design school, it talks about architecture and the human perception while considering the object, space, speed, scale, and symbol. Sometimes i find it hard to explain the interconnecting relationship between design and Yoga Therapy, to me it is a different application of the same skill but i can understand why it sounds strange. Architecture/Design and Yoga/Therapy are both research-based, each project/student is a world by itself, we have to learn the subject in details before taking any action. Architecture reflects the state of mind of the era, the location, background, environment, trends, budget, style and subtle messages such as emotions/feelings/energy. Just like us... Same rules applies on both (gravity/ structure/ mobility/facade/systems/ relationships/ etc....), eventually we experience both through the space in between (objects/elements/body parts/thoughts...)
Both aim to improve the society/ individual’s quality of life by offering a system which would work better. Im not saying that people and buildings are the same... but for both we use the same skills ans senses to understand.
